“I saw my daughter-in-law throw my granddaughter’s baby blanket in the bin.

Matthew was a doctor, dedicated and brilliant. He had married Ashley, a nurse like himself. When she became pregnant, he was overjoyed. He painted the baby’s room, assembled the crib, and dreamed of the future.

Little Isabella has become the light of our lives.

But after Matthew’s death, Ashley changed. She withdrew, limited my visits, and constantly made excuses. Something about her made me uneasy, though I couldn’t explain it.

Until the day I saw her throw away that blanket.

The hidden phone
The phone hidden in the blanket had neither a code nor a password. When I turned it on, I discovered photos: Ashley with another man, taken while Matthew was still alive.

The messages were worse.

She spoke of my son as an obstacle. She mentioned a solution to « make the problem disappear. » A chilling message read:

« He has to get out of our way. We have to make it look like an accident. »

The date corresponded to the week before Matthew’s death.

I realized that my son hadn’t fallen.
With the help of my neighbor Gloria, we gathered the evidence: bank transfers, life insurance cashed by Ashley, money transfers to the man with whom she was having an affair.

Even worse, a document revealed that my granddaughter Isabella was not biologically Ashley’s. Her real mother, a young woman named Lydia Torres, had disappeared shortly after giving birth. Her body was later found, and the case was closed.

All the pieces fit together.
